Environment surveys show the major benefits of a wid life asset such as the Strawberry Line. Indeed part of the line at Yatton already provides a welcome nature reserve. The line also produces a corridor which benefits the natural world.

It is a Somerset County Council priority to:-

      Maintain and develop the natural environment.

      Reduce car use, and take a lead to prevent climate change.

      Increase access to the countryside.
